Central Asia Institute
Central Asia Institute’s mission is to promote and support community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Founded by Greg Mortenson, author of Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace, One School at a Time. The book was written after his failed attempt to climb Pakistan’s K2 thrust him into that remote world. His experiences led him to decide to establish dozens of schools, and promote girls’ education in rural Afghanistan and Pakistan as the most efficient means of promoting development and peace in the region.

Rejects fear-based politics that justify violence, and instead calls for policies based on compassion, kindness and a commitment to international law.  With an emphasis on joy and humor, CODEPINK women and men seek to activate and inspire a community of peacemakers through creative campaigns and a commitment to non-violence.

Council of Women World Leaders
A network of current and former women presidents and prime ministers- at this time, 36, nearly all of the world's current and former women world leaders. Mission is to mobilize the highest-level women leaders globally for collective action on issues of critical importance to women and equitable development. An online workspace designed to increase the effectiveness of women in political life utilizing a technology-enabled forum. A joint project of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA). Offers users the opportunity to: Access resources, (an online library and information and expertise of other users, experts and practitioners; Create knowledge through mediated discussion forums, information exchange and consolidated expert responses to member queries; and Share experiences using tools designed to facilitate exchange of lessons learned and best practices. Resources available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish.

Women Peacemakers Program – Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice
Each year four women involved in human rights and peacemaking efforts are invited into a program to give them ways to further peacemaking efforts in their home countries. These are women on the frontlines. It’s a selective program for leaders who want to document, share, and build upon their unique peacemaking stories. Selected peacemakers receive round-trip airfare, housing, and a small stipend to cover expenses for the eight-week residency in San Diego, California. The women document their stories through writing and videotaping their reflections. They participate in dialogue groups and workshops. Each peacemaker is given an assistant writer and film assistant to document her story.

Connecting Women to Transform our World. A unique hybrid enterprise comprised of two separate and complimentary sister entities: a nonprofit organization and a for-profit media company. The nonprofit, World Pulse Voices, is the trustee of PulseWire, working to provide an accessible communications space where women can speak for themselves and connect to solve local and global problems. The for-profit, World Pulse Media, will become active after PulseWire launches and will produce visually stunning and groundbreaking editorial content for a variety of media channels, including a print magazine.
