What You Can Do

How We Reach the Goal

What can I do to end war?

Your most important contribution requires no money and takes no time. It is to believe that we CAN end war and to be willing to share that conviction with others. At parties, during chats at work, over the family table at holidays. Be part of creating a critical mass of positive expectation.

Tell people about this website, and about Dr. Hand's personal website where the full text of two of her books, War and Sex and Human Destiny and A Future Without War, 2nd Ed. are available for FREE.

Urge your civic and religious groups to spread the word that we can end war.
Are you a member of any organization with political or civic interests (church, mosque, temple, PAC, political party, voter organizations, business groups)? Let them know you want them to spread the word that it's time to end war.

Volunteer some of your time and/or money.
Give to any of the thousands of organizations working on any aspect of a campaign to

  • spread democracy
  • teach tolerance and nonviolent conflict resolution
  • shift our economies from ones based on war to ones that will help end war
  • empower women everywhere
  • ensure that people everywhere have the basic resources for life, health, and education
  • find ways to engage young men and women in their communities and in this campaign to end war
  • oversee government spending to ensure that money for defense is spent on needed projects, not wasteful or destructive ones
If you aren't already involved, it could not be simpler to become involved in this age of the Internet. Pick an area that excites your passion and interest. Do a web search. You'll find organizations in your community and across your nation and the world that are already at work. They need your help. By the diligent work of individual hands great monuments are built and great visions realized. Go to the Related Projects page. You will find lists of organizations that are working on one or more of the AFWW cornerstones for you to choose from.
"Nobody makes a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little." - Edmund Burke
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." - Theodore Roosevelt
